Nothing new to report. Dream Island is addicting.
Traci got bdai yesterday. We arent sure from what.
This was a particularly strong fire boss. I silenced it then slowed it 3 times and some DKs were able to end it before it ended them. Some fire bosses attack very weak after they are silenced, some are still strong. I'm still not sure how that works.

Here's a nice pic I took late last night.

5am now, so sleepy.

my hopefully new partner DEVILLRIPPER needed an escort to 10th, said he was on 9th for an hour. I started my walk up and saw them(he joined the Danish DK known as MANOWARS) at the busted stairs on 9th. we went to see boss, it was up. took this awesome pic.(was thinkin about submitting it to NC)

and dropped:

I bought another 11th fl scroll from bxassassin for 200k so I can go with AllInfinite(reimbursed me) later.

KnightRyDuZ wanted to go up ToI also, on the way up:

which reminds me, I owe him 35k.

More from Dream Island.

TraciLynne and I cashed in nicely on this 60-90minute hunt.

other kbb:

Traci's summon had 2nzels and she also had a zel drop to her in the hunt, so 5nzels and 2ndais.
I think we got .02 or .03% but that's not why we were hunting there. The scrolls are enough to make this a fun place to hunt even if we dont get any exp.

Also, we always share the drops.

Some pics from the last 2 days:

I hang out at top drake when I'm bored. Usually I get nothing. This time however blew my mind. I got a zel and KnightRyduz gave me ID scroll. I was totally expecting czel or nzel. I was blown away when it was shown to be a blessed zel. Not a necessarily super rare drop but it made my day.

Seriously, succubus have some vendetta against Silver on the 10th floor:

Just a few minutes ago I was hunting on Dream Island with TraciLynne and RazorElf:

hope DEVILRIPPER doesn't mind that I post this, he sent me pics of the "charm"

just to prepare you, this is one of the greatest hunts I've had.
exploring places no one else on Dep has gone, getting new drops, seeing new mops.
this is what I like most about the game.
to start, I was going to go to 11th fl ToI alone,
3rd or 4th Dire was the lucky one. after getting a great drop so early, I didn't know what to prepare for.

saw a couple new mops:wicked mimic, wicked beholder.

I was almost to 13th, and I saw the key to having a great hunt:DEVILRIPPER what were the odds that we passed by eachother? must have been fate.

we decided to combine forces. hunting with him and his dires was insane. it was like hunting with 5 people.
He didn't know way passed 4th, so I had to lead, all pressure on me. I knew the floors were the same as its' (fl-10), but didn't realize that the stairs and starting points had changed. took a while to find the stairs to 6th, but here they are. they are on the top left of the 5th fl wall.

17th floor, dubbed the ambush floor I think by NC, didn't fail to uphold its name.

although 19th fl is by far the longest walk, I think it was faster than 15th-16th, couldn't find the damn stairs on 5th. anyways, here we are getting ready for 20th fl ToI.

Seer
I knew where it would spawn, so we walked there. All through 19th, I barely shot anything, only had 900 arrows left, but now I was ready for the bis boss.
sorry for the crappy Seer pic.

I couldn't freakin believe it, was with a mage, was pounding on Seer non stop, got most of the drops, and DEVILRIPPER got the 21st fl charm >< oh well. maybe some day I will get one :) congratz devil on the drop, hope you get it working and have many 21st+fl hunts like we just did. he also got ndai :)

I bought a 11th fl ToI scroll this morning for 250k
I know it's a lot, but hey...I have the scroll and you don't, so HA!
I think I am going to go solo there right now, don't want to wait for another person to get it, and I still got my 4 tele to 21st fl scrolls :)
I was looking at the 11th-20th floors, trying to maximize my photographic memory skills for the hunt(no printer), and I noticed that the maps are same as 1-10th, respectively, except 1st and 11th I believe.
hopefully I will post about my hunt in a few hours.

damn where to begin...
so much happened today, but I didn't take many pics :(
AllInfinite posted about our first hunt.
here is a little animation of 4th fl.

5th fl had many more mops.
I was first person on Dep to kill Zenith Queen, and forgot to take a pic :(
it dropped my summon pm, cmomr, b-res, dice, 15k adena.
I went back up again later with Silvos, TraciLynne, and Envoke but it didn't last long for me, I had to take a break.
after I got some food, I asked Infi if he wanted to go to 10th, he agreed.
one of the very first mops gave us only drop of the hunt(nzel).

we got dark sc:armor break also, but I think those will be worthless quite soon.

this ToI ordeal was a 1 day thing I think. tomorrow I return to lvling my knight, 34 now. 11 more to go
despite many 13-15 consecutive hp lvl ups, hp still remain in the shitter because of bad lvl ups in the teens.

Wednesday, September 17, 2003

This morning before the update I started my run to ToI but didnt quite make it. I /who'd when I logged on:

Silver wanted to get his hunt on but I told him to wait for me. When I got there we ran into another party, judjud, krazymike, kuty, lytes and dejavu. They needed directions to higher floors so they followed us. It became apparent on the 4th floor that we should combine forces. Spawn was nuts.
I kept trying to take pics of the mobs of mops we cleaned but in the screenshots it never looks as bad as it really was.
After a couple minutes of cleaning the entrance of 4f:

Just one screen to the right, lots more mops:

Silver went up to 5f to check the entrance. Anyone who has hunted ToI knows the spawn is ridiculous right there at the stairs. He came right back down. I went up and ran around in circles to gather the mops. No lesser dragons with their magic attack to kill me so it was fairly easy, a lot more fun too.
This is after some mops had died and I thought to take a pic:

Here's the party getting ready for 10th. We didnt know what to expect.

We enter and nothing is there. We walk a little and lots show up.
The aftermath:

Silver got jumped by 7 or 8 succubus. I think everyone freaked for a moment. I did.

There were a lot of packs of succubus like that on 9th and 10th. It was fun.
Silver killed Zenith Queen while he was solo'ing his last few minutes in toi. He can post about that.

Silver logged and we waited a while for the zenith queen but we decided to hunt the new island instead.
I must say I really enjoy the artwork.
We walked around a while killing the new mops. It became rather boring. Then we finally found a boss:

The Will O' Wisps are the coolest lookin mops on dream island. The green ones hurt the most I think.

Drops sucked the whole morning so we went to find the Unicorn with hopes of something great. We walked around the spawn for a while and it appeared.

It dropped junk. We waited a while for the next one to spawn then decided to call it a hunt and take a much needed break.

Lineage: Dark Conquest, Episode 1: Light and Shadow will be published to the US Lineage servers on Wednesday, September 17th at 10:00 AM CDT. All US servers will be unavailable for approximately two hours to complete the episode publish. Even though the majority of Episode 1 content has already been patched to the servers in recent weeks, there will still be a download of approximately 40 MB for this publish.

Dark Conquest: Episode 1 will include the following:

Dark Elves

Addition of the new Dark Elf class. The Dark Elf is a master of assassination, with a basic dexterity and magical powers similar to Elves, and attack strength greater than many Knights. However, the Dark Elf defensive capabilities are only somewhat higher than a Wizard, and they are incapable of wielding many commonly-known two-handed weapons, instead specializing mainly in an arsenal known only to their own kind. Dark Elves have a nature that instinctively prefers darkness to light, so they take shelter and build their homes in caves, and have developed a unique Dark Elf “infravision” to allow them to see more clearly at night and in dark areas.

Addition of the new Silent Cavern area, which includes the Silent Cavern Village, Silence Ground, and the Elder Room. This area includes several new NPCs:

  • Enya – Dark Elf Teleporter NPC who will teleport lower-level Dark Elves to Hidden Valley; the Dark Elf Karen in Hidden Valley will teleport lower-level Dark Elves back to Silent Cavern Village.

  • Hadesty – Dark Elf Healer NPC who will provide healing services in exchange for a Dark Stone.

  • Rayearth – Dark Elf Storage NPC who functions as the “storage dwarf” for the Silent Cavern area. You must be at least Level 5 to store/retrieve items; retrieval cost per item is 30 adena.

  • Sedia – Dark Elf Mage NPC who instructs Dark Elves in the ways of basic shared magic. Dark Elves can learn Level 1 “common” magic at Level 12, and Level 2 “common” magic at Level 24.

  • Squalid – Dark Elf Merchant NPC who sells basic supplies, such as scrolls, potions, arrows, etc., as well as weapons unique to the Dark Elf class, such as Edoryu, Claws, Throwing Knives, and Gauntlets.

  • Koup – Dwarven Blacksmith NPC who assists in the crafting of items unique to the Dark Elf class.

Addition of the new Dark Elf item crafting system. Dark Elves will need to bring certain crafting ingredients to Koup in Silent Cavern in order to create several different weapons unique to the Dark Elf class. The Bring Stone, obtained from monsters in Silence Ground, is the basis for the Dark Elf item crafting system. The Bring Stone is refined by use of the Level 1 Dark Spirit Magic spell Purify Stone into the Dark Stone, which is further refined into the Brave Stone, which is further refined into the Wise Stone, which is further refined into the Kaiser Stone; at this time, Koup will only require the Dark, Brave and Wise Stones for crafting.

Addition of many new Dark Elf-specific weapons and armor.

Addition of the Level 15, Level 30 and Level 45 Dark Elf Quests:

Please note: Speaking to each NPC involved in each quest is imperative to complete each quest.

  • To begin the Level 15 Dark Elf Quest, speak to Kan in Silent Cavern. The rewards for completing this quest are the Shadow Mask (safely enchantable to +6) and the Dark Spirit Crystal (Purify Stone).

  • To begin the Level 30 Dark Elf Quest, speak to Ronde in Silent Cavern; you must have completed the Level 15 Dark Elf Quest before you can begin this quest. The rewards for completing this quest are the Shadow Gloves (safely enchantable to +6) and the Dark Spirit Crystal (Moving Acceleration).

  • To begin the Level 45 Dark Elf Quest, speak to Bludika in the Elder Room in Silent Cavern; you must have completed the Level 15 and Level 30 Dark Elf Quests before you can begin this quest. The Level 45 “Assassin” morph, required for this quest, has been added to the polymorph options list. The rewards for completing this quest are the Shadow Boots (safely enchantable to +4) and the Dark Spirit Crystal (Uncanny Dodge).

Addition of the new Dark Elf Spirit Magic. Dark Spirit Magic is a line of magic unique to the Dark Elves, containing three different levels of spells; Dark Elves can learn one level of Dark Spirit Magic for every 15 character levels. Dark Spirit Crystals function as spellbooks for Dark Elves and can be learned at any location, provided that the Dark Elf meets the level requirement to learn the spell. Certain Dark Spirit Magic will require the use of Dark Stones as a magical ingredient; Dark Stones can be obtained by using the Level 1 Dark Spirit Magic spell Purify Stone on a Bring Stone.

Miscellaneous

  • Addition of a fourth character slot to the Character Selection screen and updated Character Selection, Character Creation, Logo and Login screens.

  • Addition of the Island of Dreams. To travel to the Island of Dreams, speak to Edlin in Gypsy Town, who will charge 1000 adena to transport your character. The area of Gypsy Town has been changed to a Safety Zone. Characters restarting on Dream Island will reappear in Gypsy Town. There is no experience loss upon death while on the Island of Dreams; accordingly, experience gain on Dream Island is reduced. Teleportation scrolls and teleportation spells cannot be used while on the Island of Dreams.

  • Addition of elixirs capable of permanently increasing character stats. There are six different elixirs, one for each character stat: Elixir (STR), Elixir (CON), Elixir (INT), Elixir (WIS), Elixir (CHA), and Elixir (DEX). Elixirs cannot be dropped nor traded nor stored, but can be deleted. Characters will only be able to use a maximum of five elixirs per character and will not be able to use elixirs to increase their base stats beyond 25.

  • The Tower of Insolence has been expanded up to the 50th floor. This area has changed dramatically in the types of monster spawn, monster difficulty levels, and monster behavior, so please exercise caution when exploring familiar TOI areas. Several new items have been added as possible drops from TOI monsters, including Teleport Charms, Teleport Scrolls to specific floors in the Tower of Insolence, and the Ring of Zenith.

  • Characters restarting in the Tower of Insolence will now reappear on the first floor of the Tower instead of in Aden City.

  • Hit Point (HP) and Mana Point (MP) regeneration rates have been increased within the inner castle areas of Kent, Windawood, Giran, Heine, and Aden.

  • Bulletin boards have been added to all inner castle areas.

  • Characters restarting in the Temple of Eva will now reappear in Heine instead of Talking Island.

  • Summoned creatures dismissed while out of range of the owner will drop any carried items to the ground.

  • All classes capable of learning basic “common” magic can now learn these spells from either Gereng on Talking Island or Horun in Dragon Valley.

  • Added Help and Game Tip message pop-up windows. As characters level up, they will receive a Game Tip pop-up message which gives in-game information relative to their class; as players log in to the game, they will receive a Game Tip pop-up window. These windows can be disabled by using the check box on the message to disable tips on start up; to re-enable these windows, go into Game Options and click on Game Tip, which will display the dialogue box with a check box to re-enable.

ok, I got my elf ready to go for tomorrow.
2 ghaste with an hour of haste already stacked
30 clears(that is a lot for me (:)
6 wafers
4200 arrows (2 hours hopefully)
15 spirit gems (don't know for sure if I'll summon)
my elf is sitting outside of ToI, hopefully I will start there tomorrow.

little augmentation(is that a word?) to Brian's nice Roscoe biography. I was the one who found Roscoe :) it was lv 30 at the time I think, and I gave the owner 50k and lvl 28 unamed dob. He said the dob had sentimental value to it, that the prince of circle c(I think) gave it to him. I know many ppl in the pledge including the prince, so I talked the dob owner into the trade after he asked the prince if it was ok.

Like I was telling Diode, my day-to-day stuff is getting really boring. I just hunt, hunt, hunt in owl.
I told him I'd post more Roscoe news so here it is.
Good doggie again.

I completed another one of my lineage goals today, lvling Roscoe to 48.

Roscoe's story:
When I first started lineage I tamed 2 dobs with my prince. I was trying to think of a pair of names, such as Law and Order or Crime and Punishment, stuff like that. Those were taken so I named them after 2 dobs in a disney movie, Roscoe and DeSoto from Oliver and Company. I lvled them a little then they remained in storage for a long time. Then I started my mage and needed their help again. I hunted forever in ant caves with both of them and then I saw that article at Lineage Compendium about a lvl 48 dob(Tornomer's dob?) saying Yes, master!. I decided then I would hunt with one dob, Roscoe, and lvl him to 48. One night about a year ago I went afk in skt. I thought I had logged off and thus Roscoe was auto-kennelled. However, I hadnt logged off and I went out to party. I came back and Roscoe was gone. He was lvl 44. Totally pissed like no other I gave up on dobs and went to summons. (DeSoto had long passed away when he died during a d/c and I lost my connection for like 30minutes. ) When I hit 49 I decided summons were taking too much exp. (yes i hunted most of 47-49 with summons but i also blew oodles and oodles of ac and made nothing so my items still suck.)
I liked using som and magic so I turned to dobs and I once again started my quest of lvling a dob to 48. I tamed a couple and tried to name them Roscoe and DeSoto. It'd be just like old times. Roscoe was taken though so I named one Roscoelives and the other DeSoto. Only a few days later though my friend found the owner of a dob named Roscoe and I was able to get the collar! What luck! I lvled Roscoe and DeSoto into the 30's when Eppoone and Landross told me they had a lvl 45 unnamed dob. I traded for it and dismissed my current Roscoe and named the new one Roscoe. Over the last several months Roscoe has inched toward 48. This last week I focused solely on lvling Roscoe and finally, sometime this afternoon, he spoke the words I've been waiting to hear for a long time.

He may not be the exact dob I tamed almost 2 years ago but that doesnt matter to me. He's still Roscoe.

Roscoe will sit in the kennel for a while now. I have another project dob, Judgementt. He is Chrystopher's long time companion. However Chrystopher has frequent disconnects and keeping Judgementt alive is too hard. I guesstimate Judgementt has done like 300% of lvl 47, no joke. I take over with Judgementt at 0%.
After he gets to 48 I plan to lvl DeSoto to 48 or Roscoe to 49. I'm not sure yet.

On a side note:
God can we please have ep. 13 already! I'm so anxious.

my knight is now level 33. leveling is getting so slow, I can barely handle it. I wand him into orc scout and now I can only get about 130% per wand I think :(
once he is lvl 45 he will die for AllInfinite's prince so he can do lvl 45 quest, then he is off to FI with my elf 40 minutes behind. or verca vice
